How we build
Building your custom home.
A custom home brings together your plans, property, budget, and selections. TD takes a hands-on role in construction, while Jackie works with you on layout and finishes. Here is how those decisions come together as you prepare to build.
Tell us about your home
We begin with a phone call about where you want to build, what your family needs, and any budget or timing you have in mind. You can come to us with a finished idea or while you are still deciding what the home should include.
Look at the lot and the layout together
The property affects the home’s placement, access, and connection to outdoor space. Share the lot location and any information you have about the site. If you are still looking for land, we can start with the area and the type of home you are considering.
Develop your floor plan
Bring your own plan, choose from our collection, or work with our drafter on a custom design. The layout should reflect your priorities, including the size of the home, the relationships between rooms, and the spaces your family will use most.
Define the work and budget
The plan and proposed selections establish what needs to be built. This is where the estimate, work included, outstanding decisions, and timing are considered together. Changes can affect more than one part of the project, so their cost and scope should be understood before the related work proceeds.
Bring the design into construction
Jackie Riddle works with clients on layout, finishes, and selections. TD Riddle takes a hands-on approach to construction and works alongside subcontractors. Their involvement connects the decisions you make about the home with the work of building it.
Plan for ongoing property care
Finishes, fixtures, and exterior details will need care as the home is used. Our monthly maintenance program is an option for owners who want help with that upkeep. It is a separate service with tasks and arrangements based on the property.
A process shaped by the property.
Site conditions, the final design, and the agreed scope determine the details and timing for your project. An addition or commercial property may begin with a different set of decisions.
