Frequently asked questions

Building, remodeling, and maintenance questions.

Find answers about choosing plans, building on your lot, requesting an estimate, and arranging maintenance for a home or commercial property in the Magic Valley.

Getting started

What kinds of projects do you take on?

We build custom homes on your lot, complete remodels and additions, work on commercial construction, and offer monthly property maintenance for homes and businesses.

Which parts of the Magic Valley do you serve?

We serve Twin Falls, Kimberly, Jerome, Burley, Filer, Buhl, Hagerman, and the surrounding Magic Valley. All four services cover the same area. For a property outside those communities, send us the address so we can confirm the location.

What happens when I request a free estimate?

We start with a phone call about the property and the work you have in mind. From there, we can identify the information and decisions needed to develop an estimate.

What if my project involves more than one service?

Tell us about the whole project. A home addition and ongoing maintenance, for example, can be discussed together while keeping the scope of each service clear.

Custom homes and floor plans

Can I contact you before buying land?

Yes. Tell us where you are looking and the kind of home you want to build. You do not need to own a lot before making an initial inquiry.

Can I use a floor plan I already have?

Yes. Bring your plan and any changes you have in mind. We will discuss the current drawings and other information needed for your project.

What sizes are available in your plan collection?

Our collection ranges from the 1,460-square-foot Kenydi to the 2,552-square-foot Aiden. Adelaide is approximately 2,000 square feet. Visit the individual plan pages for layouts and available details.

What is the difference between a floor-plan drawing and an exterior rendering?

A floor-plan drawing shows the arrangement of the rooms. An exterior rendering illustrates the home’s appearance. Some drawings are preliminary, so contact us for current documents when you are ready to move forward.

Who works with me on design and construction?

Jackie Riddle helps with layout, finishes, and selections. TD Riddle is the owner and takes a hands-on approach to construction, with attention to the budget and communication about the work.

Can you give me a cost from the floor-plan name alone?

The plan is only part of the estimate. Your property, selections, and the work included also affect cost. We need those details to discuss a figure for your home.

Remodels and additions

How do I decide between a remodel and an addition?

A remodel changes the space you already have, while an addition creates more room. The best direction depends on whether your current layout can meet your needs and what is practical for the property.

Can I get started without existing building drawings?

Yes. Tell us which areas you want to change and share any photos or measurements you have. If drawings are available, they can help explain the existing structure and previous alterations.

Will I be able to stay in my home during the work?

That depends on the scope and which rooms or entrances are affected. We need to review the work and the functions you rely on before you make plans to remain in the home throughout construction.

Can an addition match the style of my home?

The existing exterior, materials, and roofline can guide the design of an addition. Show us the details you want to retain and where you are open to a change so the new work can be considered alongside the original home.

Commercial construction

What commercial work is in your portfolio?

Our projects include the 6,000-square-foot Majestic Aesthetics and Wellness medical spa and the Eide Bailly office building in Twin Falls. We have also completed commercial work and ongoing maintenance at Putters Mini Golf and contributed work on portions of Jae’s Place for the Jae Foundation.

What do you need to know about my first commercial building?

Start with the business, the proposed location, and how the space will be used. Existing plans, equipment needs, and an intended opening date are helpful if you have them. You do not need a polished presentation to get in touch.

Can construction happen while my business stays open?

It depends on the work and how it affects access and the areas your business relies on. Share your operating hours and requirements so they can be considered before the scope and timing are settled.

Does a commercial project have to be an entire new building?

No. We also offer tenant improvements for commercial spaces. Our portfolio includes work on portions of Jae’s Place as well as ground-up construction. Tell us which part of your property needs work and what is already being handled by others.

Property maintenance

Do you maintain buildings constructed by another company?

Yes. The monthly program is open to homeowners and business owners in our service area, whether or not New Generation Homes has worked on the property before.

Does the monthly program include every task listed on the website?

The work is agreed for each property. The examples show the kinds of tasks that may be included, while visit arrangements, materials, and separate repairs are addressed in your maintenance scope.

What if an item needs more than a minor repair?

Larger repairs or replacements may need a separate scope. Tell us about the issue and any previous work so we can discuss how it should be handled.

How do I get a maintenance estimate?

Send us the property location and a short list of the items that need attention. We will begin with a phone call to understand the work and discuss a free estimate.

What if a repair is time-sensitive?

Call (208) 420-9557 and explain the issue and timing. Availability needs to be confirmed for the request; the monthly program does not establish a guaranteed emergency response.

Can maintenance be arranged around business hours?

Your operating hours and access needs are part of planning the work. The practical timing depends on the tasks involved and availability, so confirm those arrangements before service begins.
